The second phase of Wen 23 gas storage project started construction

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 23 (Reporter Dai Xiaohe) The reporter learned from the National Pipeline Network Group that the second phase of the Wen 23 gas storage project started construction on the 23rd, which is a key national oil and gas infrastructure project. After the completion of the project, the gas storage capacity of Wen 23 gas storage can be increased by 20% as a whole, which is of great significance to further improve the gas storage peak regulation and emergency support capabilities of my country’s natural gas pipeline network.

Wen 23 gas storage is located in Puyang, Henan, in the center of the North China Plain, with a total designed storage capacity of 10.3 billion cubic meters and a working gas volume of 4 billion cubic meters. It is planned to be constructed in two phases. The gas volume is 3.2 billion cubic meters, and it was completed and put into operation in July 2019. The second phase of the construction project plans to drill 24 new injection and production wells, expand the existing injection and production station, increase the gas injection compressor unit, and build 4 cluster well sites and the main line project of injection, gas production, gathering and transportation.

After the completion of the second phase of the project, an additional storage capacity of 1.934 billion cubic meters and a working gas volume of 735 million cubic meters can be added to achieve the construction goals of a total gas injection scale of 24 million cubic meters per day and a gas production scale of 39 million cubic meters per day. , greatly improving the gas storage and peak regulation capacity of Wen 23 gas storage.

Wen 23 gas storage is the natural gas storage and peak-shaving facility with the largest storage capacity, the highest pressure and the strongest peak-shaving capability in the central and eastern regions of my country. The gas injection volume in 2022 has exceeded 1 billion cubic meters, with an average daily gas injection volume of 14.5 million cubic meter.
