Wanhua Chemical developed the world’s first 100% bio-based TPU material

Latest News:In order to achieve the goal of “carbon neutrality”, more and more industries are upgrading in a sustainable direction, and raw materials are an important part of the green transformation. As a basic raw material required in daily life, thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) materials are also constantly transforming into sustainable bio-based materials, promoting the reduction of the carbon footprint of products.

In order to achieve efficient and sustainable resource utilization, Wanhua Chemical conducted in-depth research based on the bio-based integrated platform, and launched a TPU product made of 100% bio-based raw materials, adding another potential for diversified industries. Continuous material solutions.

Wanhua Chemical’s 100% bio-based TPU products use bio-based PDI made from corn stover, and additives such as rice bran wax are also derived from non-food chain corn, grate and other renewable resources. Relying on the advantages of resource conservation and renewable raw materials, the carbon emissions of end consumer products can be minimized, which is also a big step forward in our bio-based research and development journey. With its excellent properties such as high strength, high toughness, oil resistance, and anti-yellowing, this product has continuously empowered the green transformation in the fields of footwear, films, consumer electronics, and food contact.

In order to better meet the diverse needs of the market for materials, Wanhua Chemical has developed TPU products with a proportion of 10%-100% bio-based. In the future, we will continue to introduce sustainable concepts from source materials, and strive to cooperate with more Upstream and downstream partners work together to improve the low-carbon industrial chain, transform into a circular economy, and empower a green and low-carbon future!
